My processes of making a theme

I started work on the new design for the site tonight.  My process might be a little weird though.  I started off by creating all of the php files needed.  Then I went on to look at how the default theme for WordPress was written.  From there I re-wrote some of the code to do some different things.  Pretty much the structure has been the same.  There is no css yet, there is pretty much just code.  After I finish the general look I am going to add some css to style things, not really colors yet, just to get the general look.  Then the little things will be added, some of which include javascript and images.  From there it heads off to coloring everything and then testing! yay

I am really weird at this I know, but it is how I learn.  I am not able to just sit down and figure out all of the php that is needed for a theme, I need to have references and the best way for me it to look at an actual theme.

Oh yes it also helps having another computer that is refreshing the page evert 5 seconds as when I save the document I pretty much instantly see the changes (note this is over lan so I am not actually using this webserver).
