Thanks for posting this video! We’re working really hard to improve performance on these games, so definitely check out the next release.
For the best performance, here’s some tips:
1) Giving your virtual machine 2 processors may not help performance.
Right now, there’s no way in Mac OS X for VMware Fusion to request that both virtual processors run at the same time. Especially on a laptop, this means your virtual machine may actually end up running slower with 2 processors than it would with 1.
I’d recommend going down to 1 processor.
2) Make sure you turn off debugging.
For beta releases of Fusion, debugging is on by default. You can turn it off with the menu VMware Fusion -> Performance and unchecking “Enable debugging checks”.
3) Take advantage of 64-bit Windows.
If you’re running on a Core 2 Duo laptop (especially the newest Penryn processors), you might want to give Windows XP x64 a try. Windows XP x64 is actually based on Windows Server 2003, and it has a lot of improvements to make the OS easier to virtualize.
Thanks again for posting the video!

As you said you gave Windows about 1 Gig of ram?
Could the performance be increased if that value of ram was also increased?
Who knows :)

Hey ben,
nice of you guys to stop by. I was actually surprised about the performance I was able to achieve in VMware fusion. I didn’t expect it to be as good as it was. Keep up the awesome work.

Hey osatox,
My macbook pro only has 2gb of ram so I wouldn’t be able to set aside a lot more anyway.
