While doing some browsing a few minutes ago Firefox alerted me that a new version came out. I figured it would be Firefox 3 Beta 6 but I was surprised to find that it was RC1. Mozilla posted on their developer blog with the changes and a link to the download (scroll down when you get there for the download link), http://developer.mozilla.org/devnews/index.php/2008/05/16/firefox-3-release-candidate-now-available-for-download/. I have not had a chance to check the release notes yet as I just installed it about a minute ago but you can find them here.
Screen shots of some changes
The back/forward buttons in Firefox 3 RC1 are small than in the previous beta
The address bar drop down has also had some changes in the latest release. I don’t know if the links were blue before, green maybe. It does look a lot cleaner now.
Update 4: Changed the download link to Mozilla’s blog posting, they don’t want direct linking to the downloads. They have a download link on that blog post (scroll down when you get there).
Update 3: Release notes can be found here.
Update 2: I took some screen shots of the changes I have seen.
Update: I can’t find release notes just yet. I’ll post them when I can find them.

i’m running RC1 now.
it does seem though that it is taking a tad more memory than FireFox 2 though.
the UI is neat and works great.
