To Vista Or Not To Vista

As you may have read the video card in my computer died.  Now I am using a GeForce 8600GT which has support for DX10.  Ok well with only 32 stream processors it probably isnt that great at DX10 but whatever.  I currently have vista running on a seperate partition and it suprisingly runs fine.  Though I did run into some troble after installing the Nforce drivers.  I don’y really notice any difference in performance and I havent been playing a lot of games.

My question was should I use vista over xp?

Many have their opinions about Vista if they should use it or swap back to XP. Which works for you the most? Which OS provides you what you need out of a computer?

  2. Personally, I like Vista more than XP in terms of just being tired of the old XP interface and like something new and refreshing.

My only beef with Vista really is the changes to the Control Panel layout, and the audio engine rewrite which makes Vista’s compatibility with alot of sound cards horrible, even with drivers.

But, from what I’ve been reading about Windows 7, it’s going to be the next major upgrade that was from Windows ME to Windows XP…

If anything, I’d use Vista to at least get used to how it handles and how apps and stuff work on it, because Vista was pretty much a Pre-Alpha release of Windows 7.
