Hey Everyone,

Those of you who visit the site on a regular basis might have noticed that it has been up and down, mostly down, over the last few days. Part of this was due to the fact that I moved from a shared server to a VPS. I'd like to say thanks to my host, network redux, for dealing with me messing this up over the last few days. Thanks for recreating the vps for me a few times. I started off with using lxadmin to configure everything. It was working pretty well and even has support for lighttpd which is what I was using to serve up the stuff (plus php via fcgi). It was nice because I could add clients and what not. Anyway I screwed up the vps pretty bad, apparently you can't "update" it from the old version to their brand new version. oops my bad.

So I had my host recreate my vps for me. This time it was a stock VM where I would have to set it up myself. Everything was going great, I set up dns by myself too! I went to reboot the server later in the day and when it came back I got this random error trying to connect to it. Also yum didn't work, same with rpm. For some reason RPM got deleted, thats not a good thing.

Once again they had to recreate my vps for me. This time it is working really well. I have been super careful when setting everything up. I've even rebooted the server a few times just to make sure everything is working. It seems like everything is working really well. Hopefully I dont jinx anything.

The site should be up in a few days. I have finals coming up so getting it set up isnt a huge priority. Plus when I tossed it up without any anti-spam plugins it was getting spam every few minutes. I had one of my hard drives fail this evening. It's my external drive for my MacBook Pro. It's only 2 years old so it's stil covered by the manufacture. I was able to get about 35gb off the drive so far, its a 500gb with about 220gb used. Sucks because this happened right before finals.

So check for the site back in a few days. Until then you can follow me on Twitter.
